I have some important birthdays coming up in the next few weeks. This is freestyle blanket thing that I'm making up. It a pieced top sewn onto a polar fleece back, then I'm quilting the two together. So kind of a cheater quilt? There's no binding at least! On the polar fleece back I had a go at machine applique for the first time with the blanket stitch on the new machine. Good right?

very nice - i still have yet to master the art of Applique - but yours looks lovely...
It's not a 'cheater' quilt at all! And it's being made with a load of love, so I think it's just perfect.
this looks gorgeous and it's not a cheater quilt, I say that because it's just the kind of blanket/quilt I like to make and they are just as cosy and the kids love them on their beds or couch
the applique looks very good I need to try this
Good move sewing onto polar fleece.
Your machine seems to be handling that quilting very well.
I love the feel of polar fleece...cosy!!
Looks fabulous - great post! K
It's not a cheater quilt, it's sustainable! Great to see you're enjoying that lovely new sewing machine of yours. Look forward to seeing how this turns out.
Rules are made to be broken so it's not cheating, it's being sensible. Great to see you are giving the new machine a good work out too!
